Brass hilt with spiral twist grip, styled generally on the 1742 pattern Infantry sword. 21 ¾” curved narrow fullered blade. Unmarked and probably made in Germany as were (and still are) many English swords. The swords serving colonial militias, as well, were largely supplied by German makers and thus, this example may be considered as Colonial American.
