32" curved blade of kilij inspiration, triple fullered with raised forte and raised false edge. Brass or bronze cross guard with expanded quillon terminals and reversed langets. Matching tang band. Two piece horn grips secured with iron rivets seated in brass rosettes each side. Blade gray with uniform light oxidation texture. Hilt sound with fine age patina throughout. The karabela evolved from a ceremonial sword into a battle sword in the 18th century. This example represents it in its finest fighting form.
