Late 19th century. 27 ¾” tapered blade with a gray patina on tool finish. The forte with triple fullers flanked by a man in the moon marks. Leather covered hilt decorated with sun, moon, and stars. Stacked metal pommel surface encrusted but undamaged as rarely found. Original red tooled leather scabbard with one suspension band, shrunk and now seats the blade 1 ½” short. Scarce as the complex construction of these doomed most to recycling after deterioration.
