Mahdist War period, C.1885. 39 1/8” length with finely forged iron head with leaf-shaped point over beautifully chiseled medial rectangular figure. Forged seam conical socket. Wood haft with maroon leather band over green and brown leather basket weave. The bottom 6” of wrap and the base shoe lacking. Ex: collection of Roman Black, noted English watercolor artist.
