Sudanese War of 1885. Finely crafted bone, 6 ¾” length, with eight tines (one broken) to embed in the iconic teased out coiffeur of its owner. The top geometrically fashioned with central incised clan sign. Called the Fuzzy Wuzzies from their hair style, the Hadendoa supported the Mad Mahdi and were deemed the fiercest and most respected warriors to face the British. The clan sign was worn to identify the body after a battle. Only example we have ever offered.
