Short sword proportions with 17" blade engraved both sides with scrolling panels, crisp with original finish and tool cross polish. Iron guard and shaped wood hilt inlaid both sides with white metal wire and red circles to the front. Wood scabbard with matching decoration to the front. Showing honest use with minor wear. Dating to the period of conflict with the French in the 1890s and continued resistance to the occupation which culminated in the 1925 Rif uprising immortalized in Sigmund Romberg's The Desert Song.
