From the Sir Cecil Armitage Collection and the largest we have seen. Bronze, 3 1/2” outside and 2 3/8” inside, deeply domed section with geometric decoration. The ends as stepped rectangle producing sharp corners and edges. The opening suggests a somewhat small woman which makes the mass all the more amazing! Probably made for a young woman in her teens and capable of delivering a devastating blow. Fine patina.
