19th century, all steel with slender shaped grip decorated front and back with silver koftgari in stylized floral and geometric motifs. Iron scabbard silver with thick silver decoration in foliate motifs. The field including the grip edges, both in lustrous blue, fading and turning to brown. 4 1/4” d.e. blade silver decorated in stylized foliate motif matching the scabbard and retaining most of its brilliant bright blue. Extraordinary preservation for the period.
