Corbridge type c.1st to early 2nd century AD, the Time of Christ. Bronze, just over 1” length. Trefoil terminal and flared base capturing the axel. Made of a single folded plate and double thickness throughout. Excellent with one securing rivet remaining. Used for articulating the shoulder plates and attaching the torso plates. a search for Corbridge hinge plate will produce a virtually identical example. A genuine element of Roman Imperial armor.
