Pre-classic, Guerrero. 4 5/8” height of characteristic blocky abstracted form. Shaped into an “ingot” by surface polishing with stone and sand, the details then delineated with “string cut” techniques, laboriously using a leather or plant fiber cord and sand to cut the grooves. Well executed with a small chip, contemporary to its use, on the top. Surface lightly encrusted from burial.
