The surface divided by intricately beaded bands into their zones, each with raised oval or circular center. The surface with true glass enamel in multi colors, now faded but intact. Construction identical to the Roman plate brooches which are frequently encountered. The effect on the Celts of seeing men in such dazzling attire, glistening in the sun would have been demoralizing.
