5TH-6TH century, late Roman provincial. Dating to the period after the fall of Rome, referred to as the Dark Ages or Early Middle Ages. Red terra cotta, 4” length, of tear form with slightly raised filler and spout with original black char. The body with a herring bone pattern and the end with addorsed crescents verifying its construction without a nub grip. The surface with encrustation and lightly eroded from burial.
