Chief of Clan Fraser, Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat, original  William Hogarth print dated August 25, 1746, barely 16 weeks after the disastrous Battle of Culloden. Lovat brought out the Clan Fraser to fight at Culloden and was captured. Hogarth went to see Lovat while he was in custody in St Albans, en route to his trial for high treason in London resulting in this timely print. The old chief is pictured counting the numbers of the clans who supported the prince on his fingers. He was found guilty and beheaded. 9 ½” x 14 ¼” plate, archivally double matted to 14” x 19”, ready for framing.
