Historical Armor, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1944 illustrated soft cover book with dedication by Stephen V. Granscay to Hermann Dean. Granscay was Curator of Arms and Armor at the Metropolitan and author of numerous benchmark works. Herman Dean was the son of Bashford Dean, Curator at the Met 1912-29 during which time he built the collection to international eminence. These are the two most important figures I Arms and Armor in America. The book bears the label of Howard Clippinger, one of the founders of the Ohio Gun Collectors, whose collection we purchased decades ago.
