Bronze, 1 1/8” diameter with central idealized rose bloom of the form used in English heraldry and in particular by the two royal houses, Plantagenet and Lancaster who fought for the throne (War of the Roses). Intricately pelleted geometric borders. Finely made and originally gold or silver plated, adorning the reins of the horse of a noble, perhaps royal owner.
