This ring features a four leaf clover bezel on a 1.6mm round face band. It is particularly interesting as it reflects the effect of the industrial revolution on jewelry production. The band was cut from a continuous line or wire of the finished configuration and the bezel was die struck like a coin. They were united by brazing and plated with 24karat gold. The result is a fine lady’s ring embracing the luck of the Irish. It is from Fulbeck Hall, Lincolnshire England, ancestral home of the Fane family since 1632. It is a casual (informal) ring of a girl or lady of position. Ex Sotheby’s sale of the estate in October 2002. Excellent.
