Forged iron, 11 ½” length. Medially ridged leaf shaped blade on conical socket with w flat cross bar. See Swords and Blades of the American Revolution, Neumann, #76.PA about identical but with a simple collar rather than the cross bar. Brown rusted overall. Tip broken and both edged hammered as it evidently was used to split fire wood after the war and likely would have been scrapped otherwise.
