The Mystical Order of the Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm is an auxiliary of the Freemasons based on specific brotherhood among its members. It adopted among its regalia, the iconic Makonna, the head of the veiled Persian prophet after which it was named. This sword, bearing that image on the crossguard, dates to the early 20th century and in form, is similar to European military swords of the period. It has a 30 ½” broad fullered blade numbered 19 at the forte, otherwise unmarked. It is well preserved with wear to the grip (2 cracks and a small area of the covering lacking). The matching scabbard is well preserved with minor bruises from ritual use. Each mount with a 19 matches the blade. Very rare.
