Late 18th century. Black horn body and lid, 2 1/2” length with a brass piano hinge. Concave sides. The lid with an integral lip seals the contents for freshness. The top with a silver rococo shell escutcheon. Old paper collection number to the underside of the lid. Fine quality and condition.
