Custer era and showing distinctive Western Frontier character. 30 3/4" plated blade unmarked and in near mint condition. Gilt hilt of standard pattern (Peterson #86) retains virtually all of its bright gold finish. The wire wrapped leather grip with light surface wear only from use. Plated scabbard with a few small blemishes only and no dents. The mounts finely finished with bright gold intact. Just enough evidence of handling to give it the character it deserves and the best example we have ever offered.
