Dating 7000-1000 BC, are from a small group of Copper Culture Indian artifacts from the Indian Ridge Museum, Elyria, Ohio, ex. Col. Raymond Vietzen collection. Heavy awl pike forged from a natural copper deposit to a square section and tapered from the middle. Originally mounted in a natural wood haft and capable of inflicting a mortal wound to a medium size animal or man. Probably used for deer hunting.
