Pattern adopted as standard in 1792 after serving from at least the 1750’, French and Indian Wars. See Swords and Blades of the American Revolution, Neumann, 109.PA for an American made copy dated C.1775-80. Medially ridge leaf shaped point with screw base and ball tipped cross bar. Banded conical socket with short cheek straps. 82 ¼” length with the butt inlet for an iron base shoe, probably removed for later ceremonial use on a wood floor, establishing its original length at 84”. Untouched with uniform good age character.
