10th-11th century AD. Gilt bronze. Size 7, 3.0mm width, with low rounded face with high nubbed medial ridge. Cast with a central core to distribute the metal and heat. The core then laboriously removed by hand, and significant remnants of the core remain. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
