Rare early example C.1790-1810. See Peterson #91 & #92. Bronze hilt. Stirrup form guard with side loop to the cross guard. Reeded ivory grip. 32 7/8" broad fullered straight blade. Hilt with good patina throughout. Blade shows mottled black staining with minimal pitting with a few small edge nicks. Exceptionally early representation of the eagle head, specific to the Federal Period and very seldom encountered.
