This magnificent rapier is a tour de force for the iron chiseler who made it.

The hilt is heavily encrusted in high relief silver foliage and classical portrait heads. The grip is wrapped in silver wire. The result is a lovely weapon which, in hands schooled to it, was the match of any on the street. Blade length: 28

This dagger was used in the left hand with a cup hilted rapier in the right for dueling and personal defense to engage the opponent’s rapier by deflecting its thrusts and engaging the blade to provide an opening for a successful thrust.

This is a good example of a type of helmet which gained popularity in the late 16th century. It is a morion, made in two pieces, of large proportions to accommodate a padded lining cap which gave additional protection.

This example which mounts a fine 16th century blade, is decorated in deep relief with “mulberry” motifs involving bands of hemispheres graduating in size from the middle to the ends.

18th century. Iron hilt with cusped form grip and broad flat pommel with thick back spur. Straight form cross guard with long scalloped tip langets and monster head terminal knuckle bow.

Octagonal iron tube with fretted pouring spout and sliding graduated plunger which measured the charge. The body deeply incised in stylize foliage at both ends. 5 1/4 length plus the plunger.

Of Makara form with bronze hilt terminating in the dragon head. The 4 1/4 two wave iron blade representing the serpentine body. The hilt sand cast in perfunctory detail.

8 1/4 curved d.e. blade with high medial ridge, shows distinct laminar construction with some opened lamination, probably watered steel. Dark mottled patina with a little light pitting.
