Crusaders bronze ring
C.1100 AD. DEFACED BY THE INFIDELS! Good quality with canted oval top,
the face aggressively defaced leaving a coarse abraded pattern.
Undoubtedly taken by a Saracen from the body of a fallen crusader, the
Christian motif obliterated and proudly worn in the defaced state.
Swords with royalist motifs were sometimes defaced in the same manner
in times of revolution and and worn as a statement of conviction. Size
4 as these were wedding rings worn on the small finger..
