VIKING SPEAR HEAD C.866-1067 A.D. Recovered from a Viking Chieftains grave.

Details to purchaser. Fine form, 14" length with 9 1/2" leaf shaped point. Forged seam conical socket. Deliberately bent to a 45` angle with the tip recurved to the original axis. The bending done as part of the burial ritual. See Arms & Armour, Wilkinson, p.48 for a Viking sword from the Statens Historiska Museum, Stockholm, which has been bent as part of the burial ritual. Excavated with some edge erosion and stable professionally conserved surface. Museum worthy.
