Second half of the 19th century. 9 1/2” curved s.e/d.e. blade of heavier, better made form as encountered with earlier examples, shows spotty gray staining on tool finish. Large wood grip with engraved brass crest and base mount. Brass scabbard large suspension lugs. The tip opened for a fabric tuft, no longer with it. Thick leather stitched band above. The surface divided into panels decorated with lattice and concentric circle motif. All brass with dark patina. Scabbard with a few superficial dents.
