18th-early 19th century. Brass, 8 3/4" diameter with rolled edge and scalloped motif border. Four bosses in complimentary pairs, and a smaller central boss. Two additional broad studs securing the single hand grip and a shield shaped top mount. Uniform medium patina. Used in the left hand to deflect and opponents blade.
