C.1800-50. Iron, 18 5/8" diameter. Deeply domed with forward rolled edge. Four large scalloped edge bosses (one dented). The surface with an annular ring pattern, etched with a central noble, undoubtedly the ruler which it served and four panels of nobles at court, two of which are accompanied by Nandi, the Hindu bull god. Broad outer band etched in scrolling foliage. Quite bright with encrustation and storage oxidation in protected areas, along the edge and the bosses. Etching crisp with interesting characterizations. Reverse with cloth knuckle pad and hand grips
