Extremely important ritual objects, fascinating and clouded in mystery. These iron rings of various dimensions and weight were used in funeral ceremonies, ritual processions and during long lasting victory festivals. On some occasions they were buried, but in rituals were thrown on stones thus ritually killing the rings. Very few complete examples exist. A procession of warriors bearing ringjarn is pictured on the Larbro Stone at Gotland. Smaller of C-form. 1 1/2" o.a. Sound excavated condition with provenance information.
