See Nicolle fig. 82h for an example from Ras Castle, Serbia, but that example as well as this are typical of the type used throughout Europe and brought in large numbers to the Crusades. Forged from one piece with straight back wedge section blade developing to the tang by transition to rectangular section. Four rivet holes for attachment of scale grips 8 total length with five holes for grip rivets and exceptional preservation for the period. Note that this does not show show any wear from sharpening identify them as side knives and not utility knives.
