1829 pattern which served through Crimea (the charge of the Light Brigade) and extensively in India. Iron hilt with two side bars (identical to the artillery pattern but that the latter has line edged bars) and wire wrapped leather covered grip. 35 1/4 s.e. blade, unmarked, dark with light to medium pitting. The hilt matching. Grip dry with congealed surface but sound and complete.
