Victorian period. Brass Gothic hilt with folding side guard and pierced VR cipher. Brass wire wrapped leather covered grip. 32 1/4 curved s.e. blade etched with foliage and VR cipher each side, shows gray patina. The etching weak and minimal scattered old dark pitting blending in. Hilt of exceptional preservation as these are fragile and almost always found in distorted if not damaged condition. Grip complete with mottled staining to the leather. Dating to the numerous Little Wars spanning six continents.
