A FINE ITALIAN LEFT HAND DAGGER CIRCA 1600

Price: $5,400.00
Item Number: 10-218
This example derives from an interesting group of swords and daggers which evolved in Italy around 1600 and was popular for the first half of the 17th century. Sometimes known as crab claw hilts for their multiple down turned guards, that feature in this example is particularly effective as it provides a means of capturing an opponents blade creating the opportunity for a counter thrust. A variation on this form encountered in both left hand dagger and swords incorporates a sail form guard above the primary guard. Blade length 11 1/2". GC.517.

Extended Layaway is available for this item.
