iron, 11 3/4 dia. with rolled edge and fine scalloped inner band. Four scalloped edge bosses. The surface decorated with gold and silver
koftgari with fretted central panel and a band of repeated figure 8 forms, all
intricately detailed and profusely overlaid.
Now mostly faint and worn with uniform gray/brown patina. Reverse with original red cloth liner and
hand grips. Used in the left hand to
counter sword blows. Typically fine
Persian quality.
