20 5/8 diameter. Hide body of shallow domed form. Four scalloped edge domed iron bosses. Reverse with original hand grips anchored to the bossed and knuckle pad. The surface with original mottled maroon finish (crackled) which obscured the shield at distance. Finish completely intact. The body a little warped as always encountered. Bosses pitted with brown patina. Especially early example.
