Gilt bronze, size 4 1/4. Deeply rounded face band, 2.8mm width. Pyramid form bezel with spread base, superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries.
