MEDIEVAL HERALDIC PENDANT

Gothic period, c.1300-1500. Shield shaped as two nesting crescents with side nubs. Over ½” height. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored on a polished leather neck cord for modern wear. The crescent appeared as an armorial device after the crusades, for the families of knights and nobles who distinguished themselves in battle in the Holy Land.
