MAN’S SIGNET RING, 8-11TH CENTURY SIZE 10 ¾

Period of the universal Christian conversion and the early Crusades. Size 10 ¾ with narrow (2.0mm) flared to the banded shoulders. Oval bezel cut with three slightly recurved marks flanked by two others. Used to impress the signature of the owner in wax or clay. Language differences and illiteracy were barriers to trade. Signets allowed for universal verification of a signature facilitating trade at distance. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Good wearable size.
