EUROPEAN PILGRIM’S

5th-7th century AD. Bronze, size 8 ½. Oval form rounded section band with oval bezel impressed with six concentric circles representing the wounds of Christ. These were made and sold along the route to The Holy Land, often at minor shrines along the way. Those same routes, later were taken by Crusaders in their quest to wrest Jerusalem from the Muslims.
